Notice About Sex Offenders

ANY PERSON WHO USES INFORMATION CONTAINED IN OR ACCESSED THROUGH THIS WEBSITE SEARCH TO THREATEN, INTIMIDATE, OR HARASS ANY INDIVIDUAL, INCLUDING REGISTRANTS OR FAMILY MEMBERS, OR WHO OTHERWISE MISUSES THIS INFORMATION, MAY BE SUBJECT TO CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

In 2007 the Wyoming State Legislature amended the sex offender registry laws to provide a public access internet site which lists all offenders registered in the State of Wyoming.

The Niobrara County Sheriff Office, does its best to assure that the information presented is accurate and current. This site is updated on a regular basis; however the information can change quickly. It is possible that information accessed or obtained through this Web site may not reflect current residences, employment, school attendance, or other information regarding such individuals, and users must verify registration information with us the Niobrara County Sheriff's office, the local registering agency.

This information is being made available on the Internet to facilitate public access to information about persons who have committed sex offenses to enable you to take appropriate precautions to protect yourself and those in your care from possible harm. Niobrara County Sheriff's Office has not assessed any specific risk of re-offense with regard to any individual prior to his or her inclusion within this registry, and has made no determination that any individual included in the registry is currently dangerous. The reason for providing this information is to make it more easily available and accessible, not to warn about any specific individual. Individuals included within the registry are included solely by virtue of their conviction record and state law. Public access to registry information is intended solely to educate the public.

It is your responsibility to make sure the records you access through this site pertain to the person about whom you are seeking information. A positive identification of an individual cannot be conclusively established by comparing name, date of birth, social security number or other information with that provided in this registry. Comparisons based on appearance may also be misleading, and cannot establish a positive identification without some possibility of error. The only way to positively link someone to a sex offender record is through fingerprint verification. Therefore, extreme care should be exercised in using any information obtained from this web site. Neither the Niobrara County Sheriff Office, DCI nor the State of Wyoming shall be responsible for any errors or omissions produced by secondary dissemination of this information.

This page will only allow you to search registered sex offenders in Niobrara County, Wyoming. Notice to All Sex Offenders

All sex offenders; you have three business days to report in person to the Niobrara County Sheriff's Office upon entering into Niobrara County, Wyoming. If you plan on leaving Niobrara County, Wyoming for three or more days you must report in person at the Sheriff's Office; before leaving. If you plan on leaving the United States of America; you must report in person to the Sheriff's Office, no less than twenty-one days prior to your planned leaving date from the United States of America. You must bring with you, your travel itinerary, your Passport and travel Visa. This will be reported to the United States Federal government for clearance before leaving the United States.

Our county, registration process can take up to one or more hours to complete. Call ahead of time to ensure that sex offender staff can be at the Sheriff's Office to register you in the system.

Photographs of your face, showing eye color will need to be completed. Photographs of all tattoos will need to be completed. Photographs of all vehicles that you have access and use will need to be completed. This may require a followup visit to verify your address. At the verification of your address, the outside of your home will be photographed along with other accessed vehicles, boats, aircraft and trailers. A DNA sample will need to be collected, finger and palm prints will need to be completed. This is only done if none of these are on file in Wyoming.

Bring the following with you for all IPV, (in-person visits at the Sheriff's Office) and registration process.

Photo Identification Sentencing Paperwork / SOR Paperwork. All vehicle registration that you have access to including; cars, trucks, boats, aircraft, ATV, trailers, anything with a plate that you use, bring in a copy of the registration. Proof of address; utility bill with address, or rental agreement with address. Proof of employment; check stub, or W2. List of all your computer user names, social media accounts, email addresses used, IP numbers, and Internet Service Providers. We need social media user names, internet dating website user names and passwords to the accounts. Phone numbers that are related to you and your employment. Professional License and Certifications. Address of family and friends that you frequently visit.

Your failure to include all of the above listed information may result in your being non compliant with the Wyoming Sex Offender Registry and subject to felony criminal prosecution at the discretion of the Niobrara County Attorney's Office. This could result in additional felony prosecution with added prison time. Remember not only law enforcement is watching you but many members of the public report to our office about your actions and failure to comply with the Sex Offender laws.

If you are homeless, you will need to report in person weekly to the Sheriff's Office, giving detail where you have been staying and visiting.

You will be required to review, initial and sign all completed paperwork. Failure to disclose any information can result in you being found non compliant and may be subject to criminal action.

If you are moving here from another Wyoming County, you must bring with you a current copy, your Wyoming Sex Offender Registration forms from the community that you left. This requires you to arrive in person at your local Sheriff's Office and report the changes before moving. You will have to request a copy of your paperwork at that time from the community that you are leaving.

If you are moving here from outside the State of Wyoming, you must bring a copy of sex offender convictions sentencing paperwork. You will be enrolled into the Wyoming Sex Offender Registry. A Legal Review of your case will be performed by the Wyoming Attorney Generals Office. This review will inform us if you need to be listed on the Wyoming Sex Offender Registry. The review will also tell us how frequently that you must report to the Niobrara County Sheriff's Office for updating and verification of your Wyoming Sex Offender Registry record.

In person visits, IPV are required at the Sheriff's Office, anytime you travel outside the county, move, change jobs, add or remove vehicles that you have access to operate. If you are attending any schooling and their campus location. If you have changed your appearance. Added new tattoos or had tattoos removed. This must be reported within three working days of the change.

Should none of the above take place, you still must report for an in person visit, (IPV) at the Sheriff's Office as outlined by your cases Legal Review!

If you are homeless, you must report weekly! Otherwise, your Legal Review with either require you to report per the following schedule. Every Three Months, (Quarterly) Every Six Months, (Semi-Annually) Every Twelve Months, (Annually)

Failure to appear for your required In Person Visit, IPV at the Sheriff's Office will result in you being “non compliant”. If you have provided us with a phone number, the State of Wyoming will contact you to remind you to report. It is your responsibility to know the months that you must report to the Sheriff's Office!

You can download the following forms and complete them prior to your in person visit. This is not required but could be handy should you plan on moving into Niobrara County, Wyoming or wish to make changes to your sex offender registry information. These forms will be printed off by our Sex Offender Registry staff for you to initial and sign at your In Person Visit, IPV. Any Changes or Updates must be made during your in person visit at the Sheriff's Office.

Be truthful in all information that you submit. It will be verified! Not all of your submitted information will be shared online with the public. Visit the “Sex Offenders Search” banner to see what information is currently being shared online. Most of the additional information collected is only for Criminal Justice Investigations purposes for current sex crime investigation.

We are required by law to inform the citizenry / public of sex offenders living in our communities. This information is only met to inform the public. You still have rights; and no member of the public or citizenry is allowed to use this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass you or your family. They may be subject to criminal and civil prosecution should any information be used in that manner. Please report any action toward you to law enforcement!

Currently, the Niobrara County Sheriff's Office will inform the public of sex offenders in the community by a reverse 9-1-1 call to persons living within a radius of 750 feet from your home. Members of the public must be enrolled with our reverse 9-1-1 calling system before they will be called. These calls are Geo-location specific to the enrolled address in relation to your home. Additionally, local worship centers, youth service groups, schools and child daycare facilities will be informed of your registry into our community.

These notification are only made for sex offenders who are required to report; Weekly, Quarterly and Semi-Annually. No notification is currently being made for sex offenders who are required to report annually.
