sworn into the elected office of Sheriff on Monday, January 7, 2019.
In Wyoming, the Sheriff is responsible for all administrative
duties and budget request for the Sheriff's Office submitted to the
County Commissioners for approval each year.
Supervision of patrol, enforcement of state laws, operations of a
county jail, and maintaining a search & rescue response in the
County are the duties of the Sheriff.
An Under-sheriff is often appointed to assist in the absence of an
elected Sheriff.
Department heads may also be appointed to supervise the Jail and in
Niobrara County the
9-1-1 PSAP center.
In Niobrara County, the Office of Sheriff is also responsible for 9-1-1 a Public Safety Answering Point, PSAP
Operations and the dispatching of law enforcement, Fire and Ambulance in Niobrara County, Wyoming.
